Just picked up a shimano exage rod yesterday for $99 and got to throw it a few times in the pond before everything froze up.  Pretty impressed... Very light rod balanced well with a lews ss1 all Fuji components seemed reel sensitive for the little time I got to spend with it. The handle is farely comfy for palming a reel.  And I really like the hybrid length mine came in 7'2" mh fast.  After looking on shimano I'm very interested to see the cb line in this series.I got it from the shimano rep at a local shop supposedly they are not supposed to be fully available til after the classic.  All n all I'm very pleased so far.  Anyone looking to fil a void in there rod locker for cheap should take a look at these

Hope they are better than the compre. Compre are nice but feel awkward. They dont balance

I've seen Jon B.  using them and very intrigued about picking a couple up. I need a ml spinning rod and the Exage might be the pick.

I have been eyeing them for a couple of days now, I'm really impressed with how they feel! Let me know if u have any issues

So far so good yesterday was my first real day on the water with one very impressed with it so far.  The one issue I did find which is the same issue with all my rods is the epoxy cracked on one eye which is not a big deal to me I have epoxy and will just touch it up...it cracked on the side pointing towards the tip which my old mojos did as well as my furys and champ extreme so nothing abnormal there.  I'm pretty hard on rods.

Oh and one more thing about them I noticed that does bug me which is the same for all rods in General the foregrip is part of the reel seat so when you tighten down your reel it makes it crooked not a big deal all rods do it just easier to notice with foregrip probably mostly my fault as I really wrench down on them to get them tight. I'm a little ocd lol

Well in my opinion, Shimano couldn't get the Compre right before.  It felt so awkward, it would be nice if they did it right!  Like they did with the Zodias.

Check out the exage line quite a few dif rods in the line up. Very comparable to the dobyns fury line and mojo line of rods (sc2) 

Im so scared to try a $100 rod from shimano. My last 3 rods were dissapointing. a clarus, a sellus and a compre.

Feel the same, but I kept the Clarus and Sellus CB rods.  They weren't half bad.

The only one that was worth keeping is the clarus. I returned the sellus qnd compre. The convergence looks promising

I saw these at the tackle shop today , very light and crisp...I would buy one but , I'm not crazy about the placement of the hook keeper.

The 7'6 mh exage felt a hair lighter than the 7'6 mh dobyns fury.

You would be amazed about how that hook keeper looks like it's in a bad spot but it's actually spaced  right...i thought the same thing but now I really don't mind it down there but I'm not throwing any treble baits on it either just a jig and chatter baits

I have two lamiglas excel rods with the hook keeper in that position , don't like it one bit..

I get that I'm just saying Ulf be amazed it's not the side of the real but the distance from it is what I'm referring to 

Spent some time at the fishing show checking out the Exage line, the 7'2 Heavy is a pool cue, the M and MH seem nice and crisp. Full suite of Alconite guides is impressive at this price point, but none of the rods I played with were dead nuts perfect: one or two guides would be slightly misaligned, and a couple of rods had very small warps in the blank. Then again, I have severe fishing OCD...this is a beater rod I'd have to pick out in a store and not order online.

I bought an Exage last year and have had the end of last year and the season this year to use it. 

 

Mine's a Medium/Fast spinning rod paired with a Shimano Sustain - using YGK Soul X-8 braid. 

 

This is my go-to all around rig for spinning. Seems to handle everything well, and I have to say I'm impressed. I bought it to replace a broken Clarus, which I did like, but this one seems to be quite a bit better rod. It's light and sensitive, and although reel seat preferences change from user to user I happen to like it quite a bit. 

 

I know Shimano and G. Loomis are one, and this reminds me a lot of the more expensive cousin, the E6X that I've handled quite a bit at our local Cabelas. I'm sure there are differences, but it *feels* a lot like it.
