I've been kick in around picking up a daiwa with a sv spool so here is the big question what would one gain in going up series of reels.  I've looked at tatula sv, sv103/105, and the zillion sv.  What would i gain by purchasing the ladder over the tatula sv

I can only speak for the Tatula SV as its my only reel with the SV, by far one of the easiest reels to setup and cast.

Refinement and most importantly, the ability to swap spools! Whether or not that little extra smooth and connected feel is worth the coin is entirely up to you. Castability and versatility will be there regardless. 

When dropping down to the SV 105 you will get something that is very light, compact, and bit more finesse oriented. It is the finest reel for tossing 1/4 oz baits I have used. Perfect for some smaller pop-r style baits that I like as well as smaller jerkbaits.

Not yet handled a tatula sv but in sure it's decent. I might pick one up for a bank beater setup. I own both the 103 and 105. For what they're asking for the tatula sv it's a no brainer to get the 103. Other than the 105 being a bit of a smaller frame and a little lighter... I prefer the 103 10/10 times. It has more spool options 'if you choose' and feels more well built. Not to mention the longer handle and metal drag star. The 105 is very nice for the price but the 103 can do all the same stuff and also allows you to use it for heavier baits and cover. I was throwing a sk 1.5 squarebill '3/8oz' and evergreen popper '1/4oz' today with both reels. Results were the same with distance and the 103 is spooled with #12 cxx and the 105 with #20 j braid. The 105 is even on a lighter powered rod. 

It's awesome u guys mentioned small poppers and jerks as this was my intention for the reel...since I've only been able to handle the 103 ildlike to get a few things straight u guys are saying the 105 is smaller then a 103 but the 103 had more after market Parts.  I'll be purchasing the reel at my local shop since I like to support the small business so at 279 msrp what about the zillion for 20 more what size is it more along the 103 or 105 or is it its own demon in size.  I'll be honest right now I don't see myself tuning the reel so aftermarket parts availability aren't a big deal...ill probably spool the reel with either 12-14 cxx so I can get the reel for skipping docks and lay downs as well after switching rods of course

The 105 is built on an Alphas frame and the 103 is built on a Zillion frame. The 103 is a bigger reel but it still palms well though.  

If you're paying MSRP, it's very hard to argue with the Tatula SV. Probably get a Huk shirt out of the deal if that promotion is still going.

i have 2 alphas sv 105's and a steez sv and they're incredible reels.  once dialed in, they're as dependable and hard to backlash as my metanium dc.

Which Steez SV do you have 103H or XS?

the 103 is amazing just confused why you would pay even close to msrp when you can find the reel for 219 right now? 

To me, I don't know why they make tatula sv version and I don't think I'm gonna get one at 190 price point. Don't get me wrong I have tatula Ct type r and to me this reel would be more like power fishing. It cast well and controllable on itself already no need for SV spool. It I want something finesse or 1/4

lure weight, I would pick SV105, very light weight, palm well and cast a mile.

I just bought the Tatula SV while at the Classic. I haven't used it enough to give a thorough review but so far, so good. 20% off retail and a Huk shirt. 

I just got into the Daiwa SV reels this spring.  Have the Steez SV TW and SV103.  The SV103 is one heck of a reel and accepts all kinds of spools.  It palms great and doesn't feel like a 7 oz reel.  I'm really impressed with the SV103.
