Im buying a hummingbird helix 7 tomorrow Saturday. I need to know what transducer i should get and what chip i should get i am getting the side scan model. Basically i want to know what i should get with it and any insights you guys could suggest it will be my console unit and i dont want to miss anything and i trust you guys way more than the hacks working at cabelas i know its short notice but i need to know by noon friday 5/12/17 thanks

I have one.  The transducer should come with it.  For chips I like the Navionics.

 

If you want the best performance, exchange the unused transducer and unopened transducer mount package for the HDSI transducer XHS 9 HDSI 180 T.

That is handled through Humminbird Customer Service. 

It is about $85 including shipping.

 

It does not add any features, just produces sharper images since it is 2" longer than the standard transducer for that model.

X2 on the hdsi transducer. Don't open the package if you're going to exchange it.
