Summer Bass Fishing In A Deep Lake

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I have been in a bit of a predicament last year during the summer. I could not catch any bass at Lake Del Valle during the summer months. This lake is extremely deep. Main lake is anywhere from 50-150 feet deep. I do not have any electronics to tell me where the bass might be schooling or hanging around any off shore cover. I do fish from a boat. If you were in this situation, what would you look for to fish and what would you use?

Stop wasting your time fishing from a boat without a sonar unit. Deep highland reserviors develop a thermocline and it's very important to know the depth. Summer bass tend to stay just above the thermoclines during day time and easy to catch when you know what depth to concentrate your efforts. Another option is fish at night.
