Budget MH rod?

So it's basically a compromise, I don't want to buy 2 MH setups rn, down the line maybe. One more question, fast action will or will not work for craanks, spinners, etc?

You'll probably loose a lot of fish. Typically you want a slower tip (moderate) for moving baits.  It gives the fish more of a chance to get the bait/hooks in its mouth.

There are tons of threads on here that explain it.  Do a quick search.

Abu Garcia has a couple rods (Veritas, Vengeance) in that price range that are decent.  Berkeley's Lightning and Lightning Shock rods are perennial favorites.

Heh... It doesn't stop then.  Trust me.   Set your budget, get something in that price range, and go fishing... $60 is plenty to get a good enough rod to catch fish.  People on here like to

I've had a few DSG Tech Spec rods for years and they are great rods for the money.

don't overthink yourself, there are some really good general purpose rods out there (already mentioned). I personally use my two Abu Vendetta 7' M/F for way more things than what the "guidelines" say. Mainly for spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, and buzzbaits, and it works great for those. Since I put the 7.0 reel on it, I have grabbed the one more often and used it for darn near everything. Is it ideal for my shallow cranks? No. Does it work? Yes. I have pulled cranks out of several fish's mouths by human error (getting excited and over-setting the hook on them), but with single hook moving baits it is just about right. Knowing what you have in your hand and making it work for you is the key, not what the interwebs say this rod is good for.

A fishing rod is a tool, knowing the limitations of said tool is the key, but the feel in your hand is what you need, not everyone's experience will be the same.

Seems like that's what I need. I'll probably be fishing single hook lures  and jigs more than cranks either way. There's just SO MANY options for a MH fast rod. I'm honestly looking to spend around $50-60 unless I can find something mores expensive on sale

M abu garcia is pretty close to MH from other manufacturers?

from what I have seen, yes. But I have not fished the Veritas line personally.

Option B is simply to walk into BPS or Acadmey and see what they have in my price range

yep, but I get a bit overwhelmed looking at rods at bps or cabella's (we don't have academy here).

You seem to have a good idea what you are looking for, so you should be fine. There you can get a feel for what you're buying, and the "expert help" can narrow things down for you as well.
