Do it essential series

Featured Replies

My buddy is getting out of fishing and is selling all his stuff.

I was wondering he has he has the essential series line of molds, glitter, plastisol. Is the essential series line a good line or should I spend my money on other molds and plastisol etc.

Not sure if you are aware of it, but the essential series molds are cast aluminum as opposed to CNC, so the finish will not be as refined and the resulting baits will be dull as opposed to shiney. They will be fine to fish with, but I thought you should know this to avoid surprises.

If you want the glossy machined aluminum mold look out of the essential series molds there are 2 things you can do. The first is polish the cavities, it is time consuming and involves a lot of labor, the second is to coat the cavities with engine enamel, I believe there is a video on doing that. The molds aren't bad and you get good baits but they don't have the same look as a machined aluminum mold.

the Essential Plastisol sucks. It is the most sensitive to heat of all plastisol I've used. The molds aren't too bad I do like the Senko mold. Everyone is correct that your baits will be dull. For plastisol buy Bait Junkys soft Premium Degassed. It is already soft and he adds heat stabilizer.
