Live Well Care

Featured Replies

I'm two weeks from fishing my first tournament as a boat, always been a co-angler in the past and just recently bought my first bass boat. I have two large livewells that work great as far as filling and cirulating. However, I'd like to clean them up before I use them. Aside from some expensive products made just for this purpose, could I just use dawn dish soap and rinse well or is there another "household" product that would be better for the fish? Thanks guys!!

Dish soap will work just rinse well. You could also use something like a Mr Clean magic eraser (wouldn't recommend for fiberglass). I've heard of some using bleach and rinsing really well and then letting it dry.

This covers it - also after it's cleaned & rinsed, fill it and put some fish in it at least once before your tournament to be sure you're not going to some how have dead bass on derby day.

Good Luck
