Fishing Lure Weight

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a spinning rod that can hold 3/16 to 3/4 lure weight. I am looking to purchase a 1 oz lure. I just wanted to make sure it will not damage my rod. Thank You

I wouldn't suggest it. Your rod has these ratings for a reason and if broken it could injure you or void the warranty of applicable

The can lift about 2 lbs and cast a 1 oz lure without damaging it. The issue becomes can you get a good hook set with a medium power.

I would highly suggest not using a 1oz lure on that rod. For 1oz lures your going to have to get longer rod with more power, heavy or maybe medium heavy depending on the brand.
