Metal hood on abu garcia rod ?

Featured Replies

So I have the old model of abu garcia vendetta , veritas and veracity casting rod with the metal screw down reel seat hood holder  . My issue when I set the hook on 2-3 lb bass the reel feels like the reel is being lifted off the reel seat but the metal hood is tighten down all the way . The I tried heat shrink tubing and I see have the problem has anyone else had this and if so what your problem solver .  I did contact abu garcia but they want me to send it in . When I know they not broken it it just probably and easy fix .

I hate those things, not so much for how they hold the reel, but how they feel while fishing. I sometimes wrap my middle or ring finger around that area. For your issue, try wrapping a little painters tape around both reel feet.
