hello

im new to bass fishing..and i recentlypurchased GULP's Sinking minnows..im wondering..do u fish them like a rubber worm..or some other way..i fish on shore (no boat)

anyonewho has used these please give me all you know about this bait..

if it matters..i live in NE ohio

Rig the minnow weedless without a weight.  Cast it out and let in sink to the bottom and let it sit for about 15 seconds.  Watch your line very closly and if there is any movement, wind in the slack and set the hook.  If nothing happens after 15 seconds, slowly lift your rod and let the lure settle back down to the bottom and wait another 15 seconds.  It is a relativley boring process, but when that fish swims off with your lure, it is exciting winding down and setting the hook.  Good Luck.

I was crappie fishing with a buddy and we were fishing an underwater beaver pile. I knew there had to be bass on it, but I hadn't brought any bass stuff and the only thing that he had was a pack of pumpkinseed GULP Sinking Minnows. I only thing large enough for a hook was a large ball head jighead. I t-rigged it and fished it like a shaky head and caught 3 over 15" with one being around 18" and and another one around 12" in about 10 minutes. This is the only time that I had ever fished that bait before, but you can bet I will be out buying more of them and fishing them shaky head style in the future.

I fish it exactly like a Senko (it falls horizontally like a Senko).

they are just gulps variety of a senko.  im not a big fan of the gulp products mostly because they are messy but there is no doubt these will catch fish.  read the senko sticky and you should be all set but essentially let it fall on a semi slack line, dead stick it on the bottom a bit, then pick it up and let it fall again.  the magic is in the fall, as these baits shimmy and fall horizontal.

The real key to fishing GULP! is to let it sit in the water long enough for the scent to disperse in the water.  Don't be afraid to make multiple casts to the same area, especially after you hook a fish.  These do fish like Senko's but they don't shimmy as much.
