I've got a 14 ft alum. v-hull boat.  I'm looking to paint it as soon as the weather gets warmer.  I took a trip to Lowes today to see what kind of alum. paint they had.  The only paint they had was silver in color.  I'm looking to paint it a green similar to a Jon boat or something that won't reflect alot of light back up at me and make it too hot in the Missouri sun.  Anyone got any suggestions on where I can get the paint?

I would check Auto Parts stores.

But there are alot of guys on this site that have painted their boats. Ask what they used.

Scuff sand the surface, apply alodine 1200, apply Zinc Chromate primer, finish with any urethane or Epoxy paint

I did a search for Zink Chromate Primer and all I came up with were spray can's. Is that how you did yours, by can spray paint?

i did a lot of research last year when i was re-doing mine about zinc primer and all i came up with were cans....

I primed and finish coated this boat with spray cans, so yea it's possible
