24volt motor

Featured Replies

i have a 12  / 24 volt motor, it is hooked up for 12v right now. do i just get another battery and hook the other wires up and flip the switch to 24v? what is the purpose for the 24v, is it for longer battery life or more lb thrust or speed? i have no ideal.   thanks

IT'S LIKE A LIGHT BULB...THE BIGGER THE WATTAGE THE MORE POWER IT USES UP.  SO IF YOU HAVE A 12/24V MOTOR AND ONLY USING 12V TO RUN IT...YOU WILL END UP DEAD IN THE WATER SOONER THAN IF YOU WERE CONNECTED TO ANOTHER 12V BATTERY.

Thats not the case with 24 volt system. If you were to run your 12 volt system at half speed and got 2 mph. If you hooked up 24 volt to get the same speed you would run at 1/4 speed.
