Wopper plopped at night?

Featured Replies

So does anyone have any luck with the whopper plopper at night? Friday night the night before the full moon my buddy and I went out. We started on the water at 8:30 pm and stayed till midnight. Within minutes of getting to our spot he caught his first. A couple casts later he caught another. His whopper was on point. But as the sun went down he got a couple mis-strikes. On the other hand once the sun was down and the sky was dark my wakebait and jitter bug started getting hit while he threw the plopper for the next 2-3 hours.

We were in the same waters and the bite was a little tough but I was catching fish from the back of the boat in waters he had hit and I caught bass where he didn't have a single strike. In fact once it was dark he didn't get another strike.

Is this common? Does anyone else have this issue?
