I just sold my 21 ft Triumph in december due to cost reasons, and the fact that i dont have a boat to take fishing, in any manner is about to kill me. I am a college student, so im going to down size and look at jon boat/kayak to fish with. I want to spend about 1000, i can push more if its close.

Where can i get the best deal on a jon boat? I dont want a motor, i will put a trolling motor instead.

I'm in the Northern South Carolina area.

First how big of a boat do you want?  I have been looking at a few jon boats and you can get a new one for under 1000 from most boat manufacturers.  Tracker makes a 14 ft one that goes for around 700.

if you are looking at kayaks, i would recommend the hobie outback hank parker edition.  Its pricy but one hell of a yak!!

i feel like the 14 foot would be perfect. I am heading home tomorrow so i think ill run by the local dealership and see what they have.
