Fishing Coach in the Northeast

Featured Replies

Hello all

I was wondering if there are fishing coaches in the northeast and if they are what it would cost for something like this.  Also curious about how it would be structured and if anyone has had an opportunity to have a coach, i feel like it would be a good way to learn more about fishing in a timely manner.

Thanks

Joining a club is a good idea.  You could hire a guide, too.  That's going to give less about fishing and more about how to fish their lake.  I used to teach kayak fishing classes, but it became too time consuming for me.  We did classroom study, and then hands on in the creek, sort of a guided trip, where applied classroom concepts to the water.   There might be something like that, but your best bet would to travel to a camp.  There's also seminars by local talent and pros alike at most Bass Pro Shops locations.  Lastly, there's a ton of good books on the topic.  I know there was a recent thread of people's favorite books.

Aside from clubs , reading material and guides... Time on the water trumps all. Just like most things , the more you do it.. generally the better you become.

Look at Life Outdoors Unlimited, great and knowledgeable guide service.  Learned a lot from their guides, the couple times I went out with them.  Caught lots of fish also
