I am fishing in dark green water. I'm not sure how you define it but it could be considered stained? Maybe a little less than a foot of visibility from what I can tell (more or less). 90 degrees plus in the south, fishing in MS. I read somewhere that jigs were primarily clear water lures... WHAT?! Please tell me that black and blue jigs are still widely known as the best bass bait for darker water? Also, are they a "year-around" bait or are they seasonal? I would be great if someone just broke down the basics of jig fishing (where,when,how, color). It would be so greatly appreciated. 

Jigs work in any water color and any time of year. They may not always be the best option, but they will always catch fish if you fish them long enough in the right places. You could really get by with 2 colors, black and blue, and green pumpkin. Whether you decide to expand on those two is up to you.
