2000-2005 Models Ranger or Triton?

Featured Replies

After seeing how much High-end aluminums have went up, I have narrowed it down to either a ranger or triton more than likely and 03 or 04. 19'6". WHo runs what and why? RIght now the biggest selling point is the abundance of FLW/BFL events in my area.

I used to fish late 90's Champions all new of course. Then I bought a used Ranger. Wow what a difference!!

The Ranger is built on a one piece design meshing the deck and hull together.

I would seriously consider them. They are darn there bullet proof!!

Actually, Champion bassboats have been bonding their hull to the deck for over 20 years.  Darn near impossible to seperate unless you know what you're doing.

The one thing I'll say about Ranger is that it's probably the steadiest fishing platform on the market today.  Of the two you mentioned, the Triton will be the fastest.  You'll most likely need more seat time in the Triton to get a good ride.  They have a tendency to chinewalk a bit as you get up in speed.  However, somebody that knows what they're about can get you a dead smooth ride in a bathtub.  Somebody who can't drive can make the best hull in the world beat you to death.  As for Champion.......best riding boat I ever owned in rough water.

I'm on my 2nd Ranger boat.  My first was a 2000 Comanche 520 DVX.  Great boat.  I took a GOOD look at Triton and hands down, I wouldn't get one over a Ranger.  Rangers are simply built better in my seat of the pants opinion.

You can pick up a good deal on a 00 - 04 Ranger 520 DVX or 519 DVX.
