Fletcher Shyrock Trebles

Featured Replies

I use Trokar hooks almost exclusively, but their trebles are just too pricey, so I've been looking for a good treble at a fair price. Came across these at wal-mart today. Didn't buy them, but they looked pretty decent. Does anyone have any experience with these? I know generic eagle claw isn't really on par with gammy, owner or mustad, but for the price they are mighty enticing.

Find a pack of Laser Sharp trebles that are close in pack quantity, size and style and compare price. I say that because his signature gear is all value or entry level gear, if the price of the hooks are lower than a similar pack of laser sharp hooks then I wouldn't go with them but if you want to try them and report back that would be good too. A lot of times we take things like that on face value and sometimes you may find something good. I know a lot of guys dislike Eagle Claw but the black platinum hooks as well as the black nickel laser sharp hooks are very good, I actually like them better than Mustad and VMC hooks for the most part. My guess is they are a regular Eagle Claw hook with a black nickel finish but they could also be laser sharp models and that would make it a good hook, just compare price and it will give you an idea as to what kind of hook it may be.

If you do a search for "Fletcher Shyrock" on this forum you will see ringing endorsements from Wisconsin Heat and Bluebasser86.

I purchased a bunch of them and can only say they appear to be great hooks for the price.  I haven't put them through the paces enough to really give an educated opinion, but the guys that have responded before on this are clearly happy with them.

By the way the pro's name is spelled Shryock not Shyrock but a lot of us have made that mistake.  Poor guy trying to make a living off a name that is hard to spell!;)

I've been using the shryrock trebles for about a year now and I consider them to be worth the price.  Hard to find a wide gap, short shank treble that is reasonably priced.  They are sticky sharp and strong, but for the lower price, I believe you are sacrificing quality control.  You'll find trebles here and there that have barbs that are almost down to the bend in the hook, or hooks that are welded all ****-eyed.  Even knowing this beforehand, I still continue to buy them.

Thanks guys, appreciate the detailed feedback. Also, I had no idea about the spelling of his last name, whoops! I'll pick up a few packs next time I'm out and review em once I've had a chance to stick a few on them. I plan on swapping out hooks on my DT6s first as I really just don't have a ton of confidence i those VMCs.

I like them, they're hard to beat for the price.

Know it’s late reply but when out of trokar trebles I need the fletch kahle trebles are a close second actually in my book. I like the shorter shank in some applications

I use these on a lot of my hard baits. They're great hooks for the money. Any of the Eagle Claw hooks with the BP (black platinum) designation are really nice hooks.
