trailer question

Featured Replies

I bought a new boat & trailer last year. The trailer has sealed bearings. Since there are no buddy bearings, how often do you think I need to take it to a trailer place to have the bearings greased? Since I just bought the boat at the end of July, do you think it needs to be done this year? Also, how often do you suggest the bearings be repacked? I was thinking once every 4-5 years.

All depends on how much you use it.

And who the hell puts sealed bearings on a boat trailer?

Are you sure they're sealed or do they just have the dome cap on the hubs?

new boat trailers should have bearing buddies on it if not remove the cap and take it to your local trailer supply store and get a pair of them... Also you might as well have them check or do it your self... its not hard. i can talk you through it.

man i would put bearing buddys on   . i would allways at the end of season  take bearing  out and repack   no big job    some times they do get some water in hubs   before you get some rust on the   races  and ruin every thing of course  you will have to put new seals on when you repack   not hard to do it yourself   kb
