Suggestions on trolling battery?

Featured Replies

Thought I would get a few suggestions on a good trolling battery. I need a new battery for a 12 volt system. I am looking at the Optima batteries but will definitely take other advice if some of you know of one that is a good battery. I want something that will last all day with no worries of running down like my old one did yesterday halfway through the day. >;) My TM is a 46lb. thrust Motorguide and my current battery type is Interstate. I have had these batteries for 4 years now so I guess this is the life expectancy of a trolling battery? Thank you in advance for advice!!! :o

Everstart MAXX Group 29

Trojan grp 27 AGM.

You can TM all day. no maintenence.  Expensive but do some searches.  This battery is actually underrated in RC.  I have the optima and I like it.  It has less rc than standard batteries, but I have dropped it on a concrete ramp, where it fell on it's side with no issue's at all.  It charges much faster and holds the charge longer than even my Trojan.

I use the Trojan for extended outings and the optima grp 24 for a 5 hour or less outing in pleasant conditions.

Cabelas agm's,have two bought for 129.00 on sale, run one to crank engine, other

to run a motorguide trolling motor, have not run it til it's dead yet, doesn't even

hardly drop any after each trip.

I agree..everstart....

I have also had good luck with the top end Die Hards.
