Senkos not working

Featured Replies

Fishing a senko weightless isn't something you learn overnight. It takes time and enrgey to perfect your way of fishing a senko.

UMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm  Nope.

As a matter of fact the senko is absolutely the easiest bait to fish ever designed.

You cast it to a likely target and let it slowly sink on a semi slack line.

That's it.  If it makes it to the bottom, let it sit there a few moments. shake it a little, then reel it and repeat.

It is versatile and their are dozens of ways to catch bass on it.  But I'll bet 90% are caught just casting it weightless either waky or t rigged and letting it's slow sinking seductive wiggle do the rest.

These are some older pics of Bass caught on Senkos; the 5", color #222.  If you haven't tried that color.....  I started using them back in 1999.  They work-----most of the time but not always.  They will catch dinks up to double-digit Bass.  I rig them T-style both weightless and once in a while with a weight but always using a 4/0 GY Sugoi hook.  I fish them wacky-style too with a 3/0 weedless Gammy hook.  They are very effective in shallow water but can work in deeper areas too.  I usually let them sink(many times they are sucked in as soon as they hit the water) and then just raise the rod a foot or two and pause...repeat as necessary.

Most of the fish I catch on sekos are nice 2 lbs and up. I have caught several this year over 5 lbs. and 1-8.4 and one 9.5, I catch very few dinks on them. I mostly use 5" sometimes 4". I start off rigging them in the head with Gamakatsu® Weedless Finesse Wide Gap Hooks, then after the bait tears I rig it from the tail, then last I fish it wacky. I have caught fish each way but tend to catch the most hooked in the head, this could be that the worm is fresher. Keep using the they work great. Watch your line when fishing them, if it moves set the hook. Good Luck

Just one day and you're ready to throw them in the trash?   :-/

You did something wrong you should catch a fish on every cast. ;D

Yeah, I don't get it. I usually catch 30-40 bass every hour. You must be doing something totally wrong.

j/k Sometimes the bass just don't cooperate.

Hey Ceph how many do you catch when you are using both hands
