Just got a Canoe

Featured Replies

How would I go about making this look brand new? It has a bunch of deep scratches and I want to make it look new with a fresh paint job. I tried sanding it than painting it but that didn't work. I was thinking just fill all the cracks with fiberglass or something and than painting over it. What would you guys suggest?

What type of material is it made from?

Congrats on the canoe,

It will definitly get you out there.

I can't help you with fixing scratchs etc in fiberglass.

What I do is take camoflouge duct tape and tape the hull at the contact points.

It ain't pretty but the tape gets scrapped up instead of the hull.

be safe dude.   GET THE STABILIZERS - Cabella's carries them.

Fill it with Bondo and sand it smooth

Do it several times until the crack is gone

Repaint

(Bondo is a filler for fiberglass car bodies)
