    A 7'MF is a good all around rod.  I even used mine for crankbaits before finally getting a dedicated crankbait rod.

    Yup.  I mainly fish smallies in a river and I use a 7' MF baitcasting rod for every lure weight and presentation that rod can handle.  Jig, swimbait, T-rig plastic, spinnerbait, etc.....
