Boat project pic at last

Featured Replies

I finaly got around to posting a pic. This isn't a Triton but it gets the job done. I've had it a 1yr or so now. Finaly finished the floors and carpeting this winter. Got the boat, motor, trailer and back trolling motor for $800. Got foot mount trolling mtr for $30 by the way does anybody have any info on the front trolling motor ( model, lb thrust?) the sticker says MinnKota but I'd like to have the manual for it before it is ancient history. I've got a lot of stuff I still want to do to it but for now it works. I wired the boat and made a switch box with terminals in it. I've got one switch to turn on the fr & rear lights. All the tm connections and ff are in the box. I've left room for switches for a bilge and poos a livewell. I mounted Wallyworld clearance cupholder things to the seats. Those are sweet they've got slots for lures to hang on and a place for bait, pliers etc in addition to the drinks. I'd post more but the photobucket isn't my thing.

nice-gotta love them ol'boats man ;)

I agree with ya on the Wallyworld clearance cupholder. :( Got one and want another.

What size is the rig? and how wide(looks wider than mine) I'm judging it against your seat height, gotta project my self I'm doing on this thread, always looking for Ideas.

Nice one again! ;D

This is a 14' and I was told it was an extra wide. I'm sure it is as it is very steady even with 2 people in it. When I get a chance I'll measure and post.

I think the cupholders were on clearance for $4 over the winter. I'm thinking of cutting more lure slots like the other style they have.

Also thinking of taking out the center seat over the winter and building a deck for most of the boat. That's a lot of work though so we'll see.

Oh-man not the "taking out the seat again."

I've been wantin to do this but, I've chicken out. I was just about over it too.

Wouldn't that be super cool to do ;), I'm just not confident in it. (don't want any problems with it)

heck I'm still strugglin to put some paint on.

Take your time doing the mods the first time.  Nice neat wire management, finished edges on the carpet, flush mounts for add ons, all these things keep the boat neater, cleaner and safer.  That's the great thing about jons, they can be modified in ANY number of ways to fit ones needs.

I hear ya LBH I ran out of tie wraps and haven't gotten around to it yet. Not a messy wiring as it appears, I've got parallel pos wires to the battery it's not in the way. I wish I had wrapped the carpet underneath on the deck but I was trying to make due withtthe carpet I had.

Not sure what you mean about the flush mount accesories.

Ya Low Budget otta be my screen name not Russ's. I had 2 legit anchors but one came untied and to the bottom it went. That was about 15min's after my buddies fish basket came untied and went to the bottom.

We are thinking of contacting the Boyscouts for not tying lessons! LOL

Almost went with the classic concrete/ eyebolt &  coffee can setup but had the weights sitting around so I improvised.

There is only one knot you need to learn when tying ropes to anything else, etc.  That knot is called the bowline.  It is easy to tie and will never slip.  Guess what?  I learned that knot, and many others, when I was a Boy Scout.  At the ripe old age of 60 I still use it frequently.  ;D

hey we use the bowline alllll the time at work...that may be the only one i actually know. (we cut down and trim trees.) isnt it just like two half hitches?
