"Thats my boat"

Featured Replies

As Forrest Gump would say. I know this has probably been covered, but I never got to share my watercraft,so  heres what I take out on the water:

A 10 ft 1969 Sears brand Aluminum Jon Boat. Seat brackets were fabricated by my deceased uncle, when he used to own it. I get around by using a 30# Thrust MotorGuide trolling motor. I also have a 4HP Chrysler Outboard, but the lake I fish is pretty small so I really have no need for it. If you look closely, right behind the front seat I have fabbed up a camera tripod for the day when I get into a big fish. I use it even when I catch small ones too. This craft fits nicely in the back of my truck with about a 15 inch overhang off the back and launches quick and easily.

So how do you all get around on the water?

I've decided to downsize and simplify my fishing.

Spent a few nights after work with the steel wool polishing the aluminum... :( My 1987 Crawdad  8-)

And After, all cleaned up, vacuumed out and ready to rock. She was sitting behind the neighbors house upside down on saw horses for ten years!!! ;)

Just FYI Matt, using steel wool on aluminum can be bad.  Something like it can get into the aluminum then the steel wool rusts.

Now this one could get interesting, if any of you knew Matt, you'd know that he's trying to figure out how to strap an Allison engine one it.   ;D
