Very nice! I have the E6X MH MBR 843 as well and I really like it.

 

some people don't like the E6X's but many do. I have two of them. (have a spinning rod as well)

Would be really miserable to have that 'red bait casting reel' and not be able to fish it. 

Congratulations!  Nice.    Hopefully your temps are higher than ours.  Been in the single digits several days.  Warmest (except for one day) in the past few weeks has been in the low 20s.  A day or two of warm weather isn't going to do much for me.

 

I took advantage of TW's 25 Days of Christmas and spent way more than I should have on myself.  Got a Procyon EX, SV103 and two ALX rods...Deputy and Toadface.  Sucks not being able to use your new toys for a few months. 

Is the Z as smooth as a reel with ball bearings?

All about that Stradic! Great reels. Though I'd only use a 3000

for saltwater  .  For me it's 1000 for bass!

Darren, on your Stradic 1000, what type of line do you use and do you experience small spool creating more line loops? I have the 2500 but looking at 1000 with 4-6 flouro.

Nice! The Gloomis E6X ML rods is one of the rods I am considering for drop shotting myself (My dream rod is the GLX series, but that'll put a huge dent into the boat fund).

I use braid exclusively, both 10 and 15#.

 

The 10 is regular yellow Power Pro, the 15 is also

yellow, but Super Slick 8. Leader for all.

 

As for line loops, there are some, mostly around

rod tips, but nothing too unusual, IMO. With the 

braided mainline, management is a breeze for the

most part.

Cool. since I have the 2500 I'll get a 1000 and do the braid/mono or flouro, I don't fish deep so mono might be fine.

I do the same, not really a big issue.

 

 

OP, I have that E6X 843C rod too, it is a great jack of all trades rod!

I'm so going to buy a pair of those polymer bearings to slap in my white reel. Just to try it. Heard they are going to be around 30-40 bucks?
