Daiwa STEEZSV103XSL vs Steez A 1016XH for all around reel

Featured Replies

Hi all,

wondering if there are opinions on the two different reels. Price for both is around 340 USD.

Thanks

One's left hand wind, one's right hand wind. I think one is magnesium, so not recommended for salt water, the other's aluminium. Both 8:1 reels, which is quite fast for an all round reel. One has the TWS levelwind, the other doesn't.

More research required?

I think you made a post on TT asking this same thing.

One is an SV Reel

One has a g1 1016 spool.

Both reels palm differently.

Put an SV spool in the Steez A and you have the best of both worlds.

Which sv spools would you recommend here?

Thanks

Nothing new to me. I was just wondering if the SV was more of a finesse caster or a all-rounder. I am reading conflicting stories on the web.

Some say that this is the best steel ever, so I was curious.

The RCS G1 1016SV or the RCS G1 1012SV

I believe the TWS steez reels are highly rated as some of the best ever. One of the ones you were asking about was the pre TWS version, so probably not quite as highly rated. The A is supposed to be a more heavy duty reel with a spool more suited to distance casting. The Steez SV TWS is more of a finesse balanced reel.
