foot control trolling motor on this

Featured Replies

It's just a pain to have to sit down every 5 seconds and use the transom mount trolling motor to move, especially when it's windy. Do you think I could use a foot control trolling motor on this? I would have to be able to take it on and off since i put my boat on top of the car.

This is the back where the transom mount TM and battery is supposed to go

You can kinda see the front of the boat in this pick. it has a larger flatter surface than the back. maybe it could go there?

Rather than trying to install a bow mount TM, you may want to look into extension handles for your existing TM.  Here is one example.  There are others.  http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=74176&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults

If y'all want an extension handle like those I've got two (14 & 23) I'll ship either one to y'all far free  ;)

I wouldn't spend any money just yet.  It just looks real 'iffy" to me.

Maybe you have a friend with one and you can try it out.

these are pricey do-dads, so you want to be sure.

good luck with it.

Ps.  I totally understand the situation.  The extension will help.  My motor has a pretty good length of vertical travel, but there are still plenty of times where I wish I had a bow mount (can't do) and foot pedal.

by the way if you do get one, be sure to get Muddyman's  handbook on trolling motor control

It's called "the harder I push, the righter I go"  It's free and worth it.

If I already had a hand troller I would look into the extension handle and get a foot switch. A foot switch is about 12 bucks at walmart
