This time of year I like to throw a marabou jig under a float. I was wondering why I want reaching the far bank and chalked it up to fishing less this year. My Bud noticed and said "did you notice they reduced the lead amount at the bottom of float"?  They aren't worth a d**n to me now. I mean we are talking lead here, why?

I have no idea about those kinds of floats. I've always used a casting bubble if I need something that will cast further. There's several companies that produce weighted bobbers and/or ones designed to cast further.
