What size Decoy Egg Snap

Featured Replies

I have been reading about different brands and the one I hear mentioned most is decoy egg snaps. Reviews on TW are good. I will use them mostly for Pop-Rs (regular size), Rapala original floating F-9 size and Booyah Pad Crasher Jr (the smaller one). which size would work best?DF493CED-9D1C-4F70-8091-E48B8D6DB079.thumb.jpeg.845988ce52b698e2e5a95677c790129a.jpeg I can’t find them in any store I go to for size comparison. If someone could tell me a good size or even just post a picture of different sizes that would be much appreciated.

edit: quick google search saw some size comparisons, thinking of getting size 1, 1.5 and 2. 3 looked a bit big.

A size 1.5 or 2 will be good for the treble hook baits. I use size 4 and 5 for swimbaits. I think a 3 is a bit much for those.

Oh and just some advice, ditch the snap on the frog. Tie direct. You won't have the snap getting fouled on weeds and I don't care what the decoy snaps say for their rated strength...if you use a size 2 on a frog with braid, and set the hook with a stout rod, you are going to bend it out.

Thank you! Frog fishing is a new thing for me I believe you probably saved me a few lost fish...

will be placing a TW order in the near future and the snaps will be on there
