opinions on deps buzzjet

Featured Replies

Just would like your opinions on the deps buzzjet from anyone who has used it.   How is the action on a quick rip?  Does it pop back to the surface nosefirst as advertised?  Does that lip on the front make it dart like a rapala or move more like a popper?

Most importantly of all have you caught fish with it.

Heres a link if you dont know what im talking about   http://www.***.com/descpageDEPBAIT-DBJ.html#

There are some JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) afficionadoes on this site who will no doubt be able to provide first hand info on this bait.

It seems pretty amazing.  I mean is there anything they left out?

Yeah, no kidding avid, they packed as much as they could into this lure.  The shallow crankbait/jerkbait/topwater I just wonder how well it does in each category.  It looks like its mainly a topwater to me. Ohh by the way does anyone know if that back hook is feathered?

The Deps Buzzjet comes in 2 sizes. Regular 3.8" and the Buzzjet junior 2.9". The back hook is not feathered and it is mostly a topwater bait that I usually retrieve slowly. It will dive on fast retrieve but stays very shallow. You can also walk the dog with it. Great bait for fishing at night!

Since you guys reminded me of the Buzzjet which I haven't fished for a long time I tried it this evening and caught a nice 3.7lber. I was using the larger Buzzjet (3.8"). Great fun catching fish on this lure!

Hmmm,

That TW order I am preparing to submit keeps getting bigger and bigger! I should submit it pretty soon or I will need a mortgage!
