Nitro NX 750 Info

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about buying a 2002 Nitro NX 750 with a Mercury 115 outboard.  I looked at the Nitro website trying to get info on the 2002 model but there are no arcives.  Does anyone here own or has owned a Nitro NX 750 and do you know if there is any wood used in the boat?   According to the site the current NX 750 has no wood in it.

I can pick the boat up for $7K so I think it is a decent deal.  The guy who owns it claims it will top out at 60 mph but with a 115 on it I think 55 mph would be pushing it.  Any comments on this boat appreciated.  TIA for any info on the NX 750.  ;)

Have you tried calling your local Nitro dealer and asking them?

If the local Nitro Dealer had been open today I would have.  I do plan on calling tomorrow but I thought possibly someone in this forum may have known.  I did call BPS but the salesman I talked with couldn't tell me about the 2002 model.  He'd only been there for 5 months.

i wouldnt be too suprised if the boat made close to 60mph. everything would have to be perfect. my brother has a 1988 tourny 1800 tracker with a bored 115hp that im sure would do upper 50's if he changed his prop.

I just found my 2002 BPS catalog and the transom and stringer system is composite with a lifetime warranty (to the original owner).

someone already aswered the wood question for ya...

I know several guys who fish from a Nitro 750 and the other Nitro's similar. Nitro is a ppular boat around these parts, mostly because 95% of the dealers around here are Tracker dealers.

I have driven one and it is an good boat. It is an entry level boat. You will not get the comfort, ride quality or stability you will from a upper level boat like a Ranger or Bass Cat...but the Nitro are good little boats that do their job quite well under most conditions.

Where I fish is mostly inland lakes and a few rivers here and there...under those conditions a Nitro is a great boat to have. If I lived somewhere where I had the tendency to fish the great lakes ( I live near Lake Michigan but hardly ever fish it), coatal waters, or other "big water" conditions I might get better service out of a Ranger or simliar...but considering my fishing tendencies...

The Nitro is one of the boats I am considering in the Spring.

It is affordable and will do what I need it to.

I just drove a 750 with a 115 last fall...with two guys and gear aboard it did the high 40's/low 50's.

I would consider the size of lake you plan on fishing.  You will want an 18' at the minimum IMO if you are fishing large lakes (I am saying this from experiance).  It may go 60 or 70 but it won't on a lake full of high waves and chop unless you have some length.

With that said, I haven't shopped Nitro but the price sounds pretty good.  Just my .02

I just checked www.nada.com on this, and one with no frills, no extras, and a 75hp motor runs between $7520 and $8550.

$7K might just be a really good deal.
