Featured Replies

Can I find out what are the best baits for Lake Casitis near LA California for  spring and summer?

I am fishing drop shot, Ned rig, stick worm both Texas style and wacky style so far.

Have not fishing any top water, frogs, crank baits spinner baits or anything but

the three finesse rigs.

I am from Florida and now here, Just any info

about baits, rigging, style anything to help on any bass lures or baits.

Do you use my email? Or what platform? Do I come back here to see replies?

I have never used a forum before do not know how they work.

Thank you, Trevor

Hello Trevor! Welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums, not to mention California as well! Sounds like you’re on the right track, however, I’m confident some of the So Cal guys on here will be able to help you with the lakes down there. I suggest posting your questions in the “Western Bass Fishing “ section of the Forums. Good luck and good fishing, JB

Welcome to the BR site.

2 Bass clubs that fish lake Casitas are; Conejo Valley and Ventura County bass clubs.

Do you have a boat?

Lake Casitas is a wonderful bass lake, however....it can be very tough bite sometimes.

Right now the bass are in the spawn and should be catchable from shore, any soft plastic in or around a bed will work, drop shot works well.

Casitas is very low pool now and easy to fish from shore.

If you don't have a boat fish around the marina and Coyote ramp areas.

Roboworms in MM111, people's and Oxblood red flake are good color choices at Casitas.

Search "slip shot" works good.

In a few months Casitas nights start, check their web site for dates. Night fishing at Casitas is very good and T-rigged 8" to 13" worms and rats work good.

Where are you located?

Tom
