Haha so i manly bass fish most of everyone i know inshore fishes and i havnt did much of that. I live just north of jax well since i just got a little cc jon boat ive been doing a little bit of inshore fishing for reds and trout. All artifical. And have been doing pretty good. So my buddy decided to enter us in the ifa redfish tourn. Its this saturday, we will be the smallest boat, smallest motor, least experieced. Not my idea of first tournment to do. Winds are suppost to be 18 to 20 mph.250$ maybe we will luck up. Last week we caught four 26 1/2 inch reds. This should be fun,  haha

It will be.

Doesn't matter what you're in unless you run into some nasty weather.

With 20mph winds you may get pushed around tho.

Being in a small boat may be an advantage, as you'll be able to reach areas where others may not be able to get to.

Good Luck

We fish for reds a lot but use live bait mostly. You'll probably be fishing Nassau county waters which I dont know . We do well in creeks  in Duval and st Johns. With the wind creeks may be your only option in a small boat.

We tend to do best at oyster bars .

Let us know how it goes !

Oh yeah! good times :) All those creeks from St Augustine up to Brunswick are all the same, fish like you've been doing and have a good time. Like Mike said that little Jon might be an advantage
