I'm pretty certain a '91 Stratos had wood structural components.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with that as long as the boat was well maintained during that time.  As for the price, at $4500 that boat better be pristine and not need any immediate work done to it.

that does seem high for a 91...

interesting...NADA is usually LOW on their prices.

That 91 will have wood floor and transom.  For that size boat and motor, that seems like a lot of money to me also.  I would thinking at least a $1000 less than that for a nice clean boat.  Depending on the model, it was the late 90's early 2000's when Stratos went to all composite construction and they normally put  a sticker stateing All Composite  along with their Hand Layed Hull sticker.

the nada shows around 2700 as best as I can figure and they want 4500. it seems that here in eastern va/nc everyone that has a boat for sale thinks that they should get everything that they ever spent on the boat back when they sell it. there is a 90 skeeter sd125fs with a suzuki 115 that they want 5700 for. I am trying to find a good boat in the 3000 range and sometimes it seem that that is imposible. I saw a 78 skeeter for 3000 and none of these boats are at dealers. a dealer has a 93 RANGER COMANCHE  for the bargin price of 9500 http://norfolk.craigslist.org/boa/415401478.html well I will find something someday.

Also these late shifts at work are a bummer 7 12 hour nights shifts in a row get old real fast. Thanks for letting me vent Randy

If the stringers in that Stratos have never been replaced you can probably suck every bit of the wood out with a vaccum. As far as the transom goes grab the prop and see if you can lift up and move the motor forward. Also look inside and see if there is any leakage(dark areas around the mounting bolts). If so, plan on a transom replacement soon. If done by a reputible shop it will cost you more than you are paying for the boat.
