trailer light problems

Featured Replies

Need a little help with my trailer lights please

push brakes-lights work.

turn lights on, parking lights/side marker work-push brakes they go out?

turn signals work w/lights on or off-push brakes they go off?

Is this something to do with my brakes, my tow vehicle, ground, or something else? Thanks for an help.

Doug

Sounds typical of a grounding problem, run a ground wire from the trailer to the truck and check the lights out again that should confirm if that is the problem. Use one half of a set of jumper cables for a quick check.

I just had this problem and the ground was loose.  Sanded off the rust and paint around the area it is grounded on the trailer shot di-electric grease on it and cranked it down good and tight.  Works like a charm now.  Good luck.
