Power tilt & trim
I got the PT-130 installed and everything works fine. I wired the controls into the throttle and the bow, then cut out a hole for a marine rocker swith on the motor. All I need to do now is drop the motor down about an inch so the prop will quit blowing out so much.

What 'custom' enhancements have you made for your boat? (other than decks)
besides adding onto the deck I installed a new tilt & trim unit on my Tracker

tilt/trim for '95 Johnson 48/50 HP motor?
Go to Bass Pro and check out the CMC PT-130. I put it on my 89 40hp Johnson and it works great. Costs around $600. Took about an hour to install. Trims fast

Danny JR's first fishing trip
Well the wife and daughter went out of town this weekend so we went fishing. If you have kids get a carrier for your back, it worked out great. He was in there for about 3 hours and no crying. We slammed crappie on saturday, shot guns on Sunday morning, and went bass fishing Sunday afternoon. It was a perfect weekend.

new truck now new boat
I have the same boat but the 1989 model. Just put a power trim on it since it should give a little more speed and beats having to hoist that 40 out of the water. Good fishin!

Project Vintage Bass Tracker
Yeah I'll try to remember my camera. Should have quite a few pics since there will be a couple projects that day. We are also adding a CMC PT-130 power tilt & trim. The console is just screwed into the floor using self-tappers, then just slide it back to where you want it.

I am extending the front deck on my tracker and was wondering what I should use to seal the wood. I was thinking thompsons or something like that. Thanks for the input.

Project Vintage Bass Tracker
I am going to extend the deck out on my 1989 Tracker this weekend. By moving the console back 2" we will be adding almost 14" to the front deck. Enough for two people to stand up there and pitch without bumping into each other.

Boat Wax??
I'd start out with some 3M rubbing compound to get rid of dead paint and small scratches, then get a good carnuba wax like meguair's. It may take a few coats but should help out quite a bit.

Anyone run Royal Purple in their outboard?
I am thinking about upgrading from the ACE Hardware brand of 2-cycle and gear oil that the previous owner used in my boat and switching to Royal Purple. The motor is a 1989 so I am wanting to extend its life as much as possible. Thanks for your input and if you have any other suggestions please send 'em my way.

quantum reels
I have 2 of the new Quantum Burst reels. I have only casted them around the yard a few times and seem like they are going to be pretty good. And for $69 can't beat it. I have had pretty good luck with my Quantums and plan on sticking with them. It's pretty much just personal preference. If it feels good in your hand, runs smooth, and you feel confident with it, then that is probably a good reel for you.

Anyone pull with a 5300 Vortec chevy?
I have a 2000 Z71 with 5.3L. I have 40 series Flowmaster dual exhaust, Airaid Intake, and throttle body spacer. I usually get around 20-20.5 on the highway (not towing) or 16-17 mpg towing 17' bass tracker on two lane highway.

Reelfoot Lake?
My father-in-law is thinking about planning a trip down to Reelfoot the last weekend in February. Anyone know what the fishing is usually like that time of the year? Thanks for your help.

50hp Evinrude question
I haven't had this problem with an outboard but when I had a dirt bike I had something similar happen. My advice is to start diagnosing it in steps. 1. make sure that the fuel is fresh 2. make sure the fuel bulb is firm 3. change the fuel filter 4. clean the carbs out, make sure there are no loose fuel lines or vacuum lines. 5. change the spark plug 6. give it a Sea Foam treatment 7. adjust or have a pro adjust the carb Don't know if this helps but it usually worked for me. Like I said my dirt bike sat for over a year while I was in Iraq. And I pretty much went through this process and finally got the bugs out. Good Luck, Danny
