  1. Has anyone ever used the CMC PT-130 tilt & trim kit. I have got quotes from boat mechanics and they all told me they would charge in the ballpark of $900 to install a unit on my boat. I have a 1989 Tracker Pro-17 with a 40 hp Johnson. I have no problem lifting it up manually but when I am running I would like to be able to hit the button to smooth out the ride, instead of guessing where to set it before I take off. I can get the kit for $600 from BPS. It looks like an easy install. If anyone has ever used this kit I would appreciate your feedback. The link is below. Thanks. 2. I already have 2 of the Burst reels and just from casting them around in the driveway I am pretty happy with them. They are smooth. Not as smooth as my TE PT but for 69.99 you can't beat it. They are small and fit my hand very comfortably. I bought mine from the my sponsor listed below as soon as he got them in.
  3. Where at in SE Iowa. I am from Dixon, IL so I am not sure where that is in relation to you. I am always up for fishin a new area. I fish almost every weekend on The Miss Pool 13. Let me know maybe I can get down there a couple times. Not a very fast ride just a 17' Tracker with a 40hp.
  4. Looks like it is coming along nicely. I am thinking about doing the same to my father in laws boat. How are you securing the vertical braces to the floor of the boat. I am not a carpenter by any means but in my head it doesn't look like it will be that big of a project. Thanks for your help.
  5. I don't know how much money I have spent at Dunn's. Luckily I had a friend in high school that worked there so I got some pretty hefty discounts. His brother works there now so it works out pretty good.
  6. I am looking for a bass club close to Jefferson County in Missouri. Please let me know of any. Thanks
  7. I have recently started helping out a local sporting goods store owner as far as helping with the ordering of bass tackle as well as arranging the store. I have not asked the owner for anything except a decal to promote his business at tournaments. Long story short he recently went to a dealer show and talked the the owners of a couple tackle companies and ended up landing me a couple sponsors. Get to know these guys and help them out, you will be suprised how much they can do for you out of a small business in a small town.
  8. Thanks alot I have a 500 gph on there now, I think I am going to bump up to the Atwood Tsunami 800 gph. IU appreciate the input.
  9. I am looking for a bass club/tournaments around Jefferson County, MO. If anyone knows of any please let me know.
  10. I have a 1989 Bass Tracker Pro 17. My aerator is pretty weak and am planning on riggin up a new on. I fish a lot of grass so I am looking for one that won't burn up when it gets some duckwork in it. Thanks for the help.
  11. I just had this problem and the ground was loose. Sanded off the rust and paint around the area it is grounded on the trailer shot di-electric grease on it and cranked it down good and tight. Works like a charm now. Good luck.
  12. I just got a wild hair the other day to paint some cranks. My dad gave me a crap load of his tackle that he doesn't use anymore. Only thing is there are alot of crazy colors. Is there a certain paint I should use that is non-toxic. I am planning on painting them white for the most part. Will model paint work or do I need to find something different. Thanks for the help.
  13. 2005 Dodge Durango w/5.7L Hemi does the trick for me. We were passing cars uphill between Springfield, MO and Table Rock Lake
  14. I usually run about 29 or 30 gps @ 5300 RPM. I am not planning on pouring alot of money into the motor. Especially since it does not have power trim. Hey at least it is a good workout. Thanks for your replies.
  15. My dad uses a product called Purple to polish his aluminum boat. It is about $13 for a 12 oz. bottle but he claims that it is easier to use than the Mothers which I have always used on motorcycles and trucks. I will try and attach a picture of his boat. If it doesn't work and someone wants to see a pic it looks like a mirror. Just PM me with your email and I will send you a pic. I have a pretty good water line on my Tracker so I will try some of your guys tips to get it off for next tournament season.
  16. I have a 1989 17' Bass Tracker w/ 40hp Johnson. Motor runs like new I would just like a little more power to get to my spots a little faster. This is my first boat so I am learning as I go. It has the stock prop on it, and I couldn't tell you what pitch it is. Any ideas on what pitch I should use? Any other small mods that I could do would be appreciated.
