Howdy fellas, I'm going to Grand the weekend of April 28th during the Bassmaster Elite tournament.  I've never been to Grand, so was hoping for any advice y'all can throw my way.  Like where to fish, suggested baits, etc.?  I'll be staying in Grove; I'm guessing it'll be a madhouse in town that weekend?

A lot of fish will probably be spawning or finishing up spawning by then so a lot of your spawning pockets are going to be good places to look. I've usually had my best luck in Duck Creek, but if you want to stay closer to Grove, I've done well in Honey Creek, Courthouse Hollow, and Woodward Hollow also. Jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, and crankbaits would be where I'd start.

I'd follow the elite pros as a spectator and leave the fishing to them. If you want to do some fishing while you're down this way, make the short drive down to Spavinaw, Eucha, or Hudson. I'd be happy to give you some pointers for those lakes.

Lot of locals will tell you Hudson is better than Grand, but I've never fished it so can't say from experience. I know Grand can humble the best of them, or it can make you feel like you can do no wrong. I've been lucky every time I've been and got on them good.

We launched from Disney and ran to Duck last tournament I fished there and won it doing that. We caught fish all around Disney in practice too though, including some nice ones right around the ramp.

That's great to hear. Thanks for the info! Hoping I can land some off the bank around the house were staying at when not out on the water. Looking forward to it. First time down there.
