Which Line for Aldebaran BFS?

Featured Replies

Which line/braid do you use for your 16' Aldebaran BFS/ or Calcutta Conquest BFS? I know both have the same spools. I've tried Gliss, but this backlashes bad and tends to dig on casting reels. I've tried Smackdown braid, this seems very good. Just looking for other alternatives.

I use it for weightless senkos, small poppers, jigs, small rattle traps.

I have 6lb and 8lb Tatsu on my two bfs reels. I don't recommend braid for senkos or traps.

Thanks, I'll look into Tatsu.

First of all, I don't have BFS reel but from spec 6lb you would get about 50yds capacity. Senko is about 3/8oz small rattle trap 1/4oz you can spooled yourself easily and you don't really need BFS for them. Just a thought.

Maybe he is throwing a 3 inch senko and an 1/8 oz Tiny Trap??? I was thinking the same thing myself.

Yes, i'm not throwing huge baits. I'm just seeing what everyone is using on their BFS reels.

Just put the first serious time on my new conquest bfs which is spooled with 8# fireline ultra 8. nice and smooth making it a pleasure to throw effortless casts! Was throwing 1/4-2/5 oz spoons for trout .

Still wish I could read the manual that came with the reel............
