I'm thinking I'm going to use it as a jerkbait reel, trying to decide if I want to use 15lb fluro or 30lb braid with a leader... 

Are you dead set on those lines? I prefer 10-12lb fluoro for jerkbaits.. I also use the Tatula SV for this purpose 

Well we have a lot of toothy fish up here so I was hoping I could get a little heavier lb test to give me a little more of an edge. But I've got some 12lb I can spool up.

Line diameter is more important vs rated test. You don’t want to kill the action of the bait with a heavy line.

Sunline for example is on the thinner side when compared to other lines. So #14 sunline will be like others #12. 

Ive settled on 12lb fluoro for my sv and love it.  Next time around I may even try a smaller diameter.

That's heavy line for jerkbaits. I would go with 10 or 12lb fluorocarbon, unless you're fishing other things that need heavier line.
