Avid's pimped out canoe

Featured Replies

I just completed installation of a bass seat on my Old Town Osprey 140.

I cut 3/4" plywood to the size of my bench seat.

Drilled holes for the 6 screw base.

set the plywood under the top supports for the bench so the supports go through the plywood and the bench.

Sealed and painted the plywood.  Installed the base to the plywood.

Installed the swivel base to the folding bass type seat.

Set it all up and it is tight, secure and comfy.

Now with my outriggers and side mounted MK Vector 55 3x TM, I'm ready for bear.

AVID's BACK Y'ALL

I'm going for my maiden voyage on Sunday.

Will post pix at that time and a fishing trip report.

What about the calender??  When does the calender come out??

Avid,

Today I was taking the kids down to the aquarium, I saw a guy with a sweet canoe rig. I think it was a (greenhoe?) that may be wrong.  He had about a 7 hp motor, two seats and the whole rig fit in the back of a dakota. I got to thinking about the possibilities of that sized boat on some of these back creeks on the river here.

Avid, since you refuse to post pics, I will put my SeaEagle9 up against yours at any/time place.  My boat is equipped with Lowrance GPS and depthfinder electronics, a 54 lb TM, and a 50cal machine gun on the bow.  ;D

Avid,

Just worry about the electronics man, I got a 25 mm chain gun for that .50 cal. ;D

All you need now is one of those orange bicycle flags to mount on the rear.  LOL...Nice looking fishing machine.

The funniest thread Ive read yet guys! That was some funny stuff, and that is one cool boat Avid. Hope you get to use it everyday.

I wish I had pics of my canoe when I had it rigged up for bass fishing. It had nice boat seats, carpet, trolling motor, depthfinder, padded rod storage, bow and stern lights, an under seat utility light, and cupholders. I also built a custom trailer for it, since it got so dang heavy! Note the GA registration on it, because it used to be propelled with a TM.

I've since stripped it to the metal for creek fishing...
