I might get this depth finder for x-mas. what do you all think of it.

I have one on my aluminum boat, it does ever thing necessary for locating structure at an outstanding price.

I have the 575.  I think it is the same but with two small side sonars for an increased cone size.  I turn the side cones off half the time for a better resolution.  With them off I believe it the same as the 535.  I really like it.  It doesn't take long to understand what you're seeing and it is consistent.  My entry level sonar would easily get confused and give false readings.  This one doesn't get confused and I can see the thermo cline.

It is a good unit. When you get it, read the manuel, take if off automatic, and set it up to your personal specs. You will get so much more out of it.
