Hi I just bought a bass boat but for some reason I can't find the serial number for the trailer.  I bought a 1980 ranger bass boat with a ranger trailer.  Just wondering why they would not etch the number in to the trailer somewhere.  Any info would be great.

I thought they were inscribed on a tag, riveted to the trailer

Most of them are on the inside of the frame on the port side.  You will have to crawl under the trailer to find it.  Take a wet rag and a flash light with you.

I have also seen them on the axel. under the boat. It has a number somewhere

you can't get a title without one. So keep looking.

I recieved a title but the owner couldn't find the registration for the trailer.  I will check in those places.  Any more info would be great.
