I bought two of these reels to replace my older bigger Tourney Pro’s. Big mistake as of now. I do a lot of bomb casting with a gambler toad. The G reels backlash a lot. No matter what setting I’ve changed it effects another. Especially the drag which is why I bought them. It’s 20#.. in the junk I fish in the 20# drag matters.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the reel?

 

I also have 2 of them, awesome reels. I think you dont have it set up right. I have my tension knob pretty loose and my brakes at about 3 or 4. 

Ok so here was the issue. The rod and line I was using do not go well together.

i put the go to line on the reel.. 65lb power pro.

problem solved. Reels cast extremely well now. 

I have 11 Lews reels now. 

Yeah, I tend to have a lot of trouble with the G series reel and light line. I use 50lb braid and I've had no problem.

I switched to 50#. Big difference. Wax your guides. 

Bought 2 Okuma Helios rods. C series. Big guides. Should arrive Wednesday.
