Whatever gets it done!

So a little while ago someone posted on here a way to catch gar using nylon rope. Basically cutting a piece off and fraying the ends so the small strings catch on the gars teeth. Well fishing out the back of a friends boat today I was seeing a lot of gar and decided to give it a try. I cut a piece of rope and wasn't even planning on using a hook bit couldn't find any other way to attach it so I used a #2 octopus hook. After catching a few gar I pitched to another fish I thought was a gar and well you see. Keep anneye on the flea market for this new lure I'll be selling haha

I was catching gar below a low water dam this week on a rope lure. I just tie it to the bend of a jig head just in case something stupid happens like a wiper or walleye decides to hit it. I didn't have anything but gar eat mine. There was a kid that rode his bike down there that was just shocked you could catch fish on a piece of rope. I gave him some rope and jigheads before I left so he could catch some too and saw him fighting one when I got back to my car at the top of the hill.
