I have a portable Lowrance depthfinder on my kayak powered by two lantern 6v batteries...can I replace those with a small 12v battery designed for kayaks?

    You can get a sealed lead acid 12v 6-8Ah battery at many car parts stores, Wally World, or Radio Shack.

    Batteries plus has a bunch of glass mat sealed batteries 12 that will fix you right up.  Know that each type of battery handles discharge differently and have different charge profiles for maximum longevity.
