Unique option for ladder on transom

Featured Replies

My Polar Kraft was equipped with this. I like it better than a large ladder hanging off the back. I tested it, and it is easy to use while in water.

Here's a link to something like it.

That is slick. Beats a rope ladder or using the lower unit!

How the $%$# does this hold any amount of weight without pulling right out?

By using a backing plate, washers, and quality hardware.

Nice!  Thanks for the tip,  I’ll incorporate these into my new boat.

I just saw one of these mounted on the back of a work truck. It’s pretty slick.

What makes it better than just using the cavitation plate to get back in?

Also, doesn't look very comfortable on bare feet.

No chance in hell it's pulling out! It's bolted through a 2" aluminum plated transom!

Yea I see that now. Thought it was fiberglass at first!

All modern outboards have a cavitation plate. You step on it, and use the manual trim on the side of the motor to hoist you up. It’s almost easier than a ladder.
