  1. Dobyns DC 701sf
  2. YES!...............but ask me again next week!?
  3. crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits are my favorite
  4. one of 3 setups: 1) Dobyns Kaden 712sf/Stradic 3000ci4+ 2)pair of Dobyns Champion 733sf/Stradic 3000ci4+ or Daiwa Tatula 3000 LT
  5. ^^^that's why, when fishing shallow cover in a familiar area, I have my graphs turned off.
  6. that's normal. a bottle is enough to do about 30 rods
  7. Dobyns Fury, or BPS Carbonlite 2.0 Note: NOBODY has better customer service than Dobyns!!!
  8. Love my smallies! NEVER fish for smallies without at least 1 tube rod ready!.........Usually 2 or 3 ready! Favorite is the 2.5" IGS Mini Intimidator
  9. I wouldn't know....................I don't own a spool of fluoro.....
  10. WOW!!! I NEVER smallmouth fish without a tube tied on. Caught smallies 40 years ago on them, and still catch them just as well now! My opinion is that a tube is by far the most versatile piece of fishing plastic ever made!
  11. I own several I use, pair of Dobyns Kaden 712sf, pair of Dobyns Champion 733sf, and a Dobyns Champion 702sf. any one of those works great for me. Paired with either a Stradic Ci4+ 2500, or a Daiwa Tatula LT 3000
  12. ^^^AWESOME spinnerbait/chatterbait rod^^^
  13. I use a quality copolymer ( Izorline XXX or Platmium) 90% of the time. I have not had a line or knot failure in 40 years, and I catch some MONSTER fish on light line!.........It's all about balancing your rod action/power to the lb test you use! also,.......you couldn't pay me to use flouro!
  14. tubes neds and VERY hard to find, Berkley Maxscent Flat Worm
  15. smallies up on Great Lakes LOVE LOVE LOVE Maxscent!?
  16. Izorline XXX copolymer hi vis yellow
  17. For finesse & panfish, 2500 size, for smallies up on great Lakes 4000 size. With the bigger reels now weighing under 8 oz, I like bigger for much better line management. My spinning arsenal: three Okuma RTX 30's (panfish) two Shimano Stradic 2500 Ci4+'s (finesse bass) two Pflueger Patriarch XT 35's (crankbaits when using spinning) two Daiwa Tatula LT 4000's (Great Lake smallies) Notice, I'm not "brand dedicated"?
  18. I use them for open water crankbaits. PERFECT power/action for cranks! They would probably make a good squarebill rod, but i like a "little" more power when fishing squarebills around cover. I use a pair of Fury 703C's for this. The 703C still has a tad of moderate action to it, with power to handle the fish around cover.
  19. my favorites are Cabin Creek Express Craws! also like the Yum Crawbug rigged with a weedless tube head inserted in it!
