never used AN40. I buy the Excalibur in either 1000 or 3000 yd spools also. Excalibur handles very well. I've been using Excalibur for around 30 years. From 8lb to 12lb. I like Izorline XXX Super Copolymer when using 6lb & 8lb.

A quality 12lb copolymer. I use Silver Thread Excalibur 12lb for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits/pitching

been using a duo lock type snap on ALL of my crankbait & jerkbait fishing for the past 30 years. I have NEVER had ANY issues at all with them. i also keep the split ring on the bait, and hook snap to split ring.
